A subtitle is a textual version of a video file. Subtitles are helpful if you are viewing a video in a language that is not understandable to you. BUZZ Player can read subtitles for the media file of all languages.

What you need to prepare for displaying subtitle
Displaying subtitle along with video file
Displaying characters of subtitle correctly (update instruction on version 1.9)
Changing among multiple subtitles (add instruction from version 1.5)
BUZZ Player can support many kinds of subtitles:
+ External subtitle files with extension: srt, sub, msi, ass, ssa
+ Embbeded subtitles in video file (.mkv, dvd...)
To enable display subtitle along with your playing video file, you need to ensure:
+ Add your video file and its subtitle file in a same folder on BUZZ Player. Refer to "Tranferring files" topic to add video and subtitle files to your BUZZ Player.
+ Subtitle file need have prefix of name same to video file name, only different by the rest path and extension. For example: Transporter.avi video file has subtitle file Transporter.srt
+Subtitle file must have file extension supported by BUZZ Player. Please see List of supported subtitle formats for all of subtitle file types that BUZZ Player can display.
There are two ways to display subtitle along with your video file:
On playback screen:
+You can change settings for display subtitle while playing video file without interrupt playing video
+Touch on screen to display onscreen controls
+Tap on "Subtitle" icon to display subtitle settings
+Turn on/off display subtitle, change subtitle appearance (font size, font type, text color, text position) as you like
+You can also select other subtitle file for displaying other language

On main screen:
+Tap on Settings button to display Settings screen
+Select Subtitle settings on the left then change settings of subtitle on the right pane
+You can change following settings:

If your video file doesn't display subtitle or display with wrong characters please make sure you choose to display subtitle and select right text encoding setting:
+ In almost cases, select Text Encoding "Auto Detect" to display subtitle correctly. Because, with Text Encoding "Auto Detect", BUZZ Player will automatic detect text encoding of subtitle and display it correctly
+ In other cases, subtitle file has specific text encoding and BUZZ Player cannot detect correct text encoding. To display subtitle correctly, you need manual select text encoding for subtitle. Following is suggestion text encoding for some special languages:
With external subtitle files:
+ While playing media file, touch screen to display onscreen playback controls
+ Touch button "TXT" to display subtitle settings
+ Locate to setting "Subtitle File"
+ Select a subtitle file to display
+ Change text encoding to correctly display subtitle if needed
+ Touch button "Done" to close Subtitle Settings screen
+ Playing video will display new subtitle immediately

With Embedded subtitles:
+ Tap on Settings button to display Settings screen
+ Select "Stream Index" on the left then change settings of stream index on the right pane
+ Touch "Subtitle Stream Index" then select other index to display other subtitle when playing embbeded subtitles video
